Too many people are programmed with the spirit of fear. Intimidation drives their life. Battling intimidation evolves into an underdog mentality. Many Christians live with an underdog mentality that they cannot win in this upside down world. It is a lie from hell!

Intimidation was introduced in the garden; Adam and Eve bought the lie, hook, line and sinker! The deceiver began manipulating the “less than others myth” to greater depths as he begin spinning his web of deceit to spiral Christians to question their existence, power, authority, and dominion, whether they know it, understand it or realize it!

Proverbs 23:7 says “for as he thinks in his heart, so is he.” We must not be conformed to this world but we must be transformed by the renewing of our mind – we must have the mind of Christ. Fear will rob rest, happiness, and steal joy! This mentality causes the slide away from Truth by those seeking to better themselves with self-aspiration.

Ephesians 6 explains that we do not fight flesh and blood but we fight against principalities, powers and rulers of darkness. It makes sense, that when we are opposed in life, its highly possible the opposition is influenced by spirits of darkness. There isn’t a devil under every rock, but we do have an enemy that would like to disturb our walk with Christ. That’s why scripture says resist satan and he will flee from you. Doesn’t it make sense that a fallen angels that can never have the power of the Holy Ghost, authority and dominion that we have unless we give up that authority, seeks to break us down to gain access into our lives?

There is a place or position in the spirit that we hold as believers in Jesus. With this position comes authority. This authority is what the enemy wants. If he can get us to yield our God-given authority satan will take it and use it against us. This not only affects us but also those under our care

There are several scriptures about our place of authority in the spirit.

A couple…

He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. – Psalm 91:I

He also brought me out into a broad place; He delivered me because He delighted in me.   – Psalm 18:19

My foot stands in an even place; in the congregations I will bless the LORD.   – Psalm 26:12

Believers literally occupy a place in the spirit. It is imperative that we as believers not only know that place, but we also function in it. If we do not know our position, we cannot function properly in the body of Christ. We cannot allow this position and the authority it carries to be lost or stolen.

A clear biblical example is Judas Iscariot. After Jesus ascended to heaven, the disciples gathered to pray. Peter explained what had happened to Judas:

For it is written in the Book of Psalms: “Let his dwelling place be desolate, and let no one live in it.” (Acts 1:20)

Judas permanently lost his place in the spirit by transgression (Acts 1:16-17).

This is the primary way the enemy knocks people out of their spiritual authority. It is how he caused Adam and Eve to fall. Adam and Eve had authority over all things on the earth. Satan stole from them their authority, displaced them, and gained lordship over them and all they ruled

When Adam held his position of authority, there was no disease, no earthquakes, famine or poverty. It was the dominion of heaven on this earth as Adam walked in fellowship with God and ruled by God’s delegated authority and power. With the sin of Adam came the demise of everything underneath his authority. By transgression, he yielded his place in the spirit to the enemy of God.

The Scriptures bear testimony to this by satan’s boast as he tempted Jesus in the wilderness. Satan took Him on a high mountain to show Him all the kingdoms of the world, declaring:

All this authority I will give You, and their glory; for this has been delivered to me, and I give it to whomever I wish.   – Luke 4:6

God had entrusted authority to Adam, Adam in turn forfeited it to satan. Adam lost more than just his position. All that God had placed under his care was affected. A gradual decline of all harmony and order took place. We see this effect in the animal kingdom. Before the fall, the animals lived in harmony. After, the cobra was venomous; the lions chased their prey, etc.

We see it in the earth. Before, the earth yielded bountifully. After, the ground became cursed, man had to till the ground for it to yield its crops.

It took Jesus to restore man’s authority, His life on this earth, death, burial and resurrection to restore man’s authority

In John 14:16, Jesus said, I will send you the comforter to be with you, that comforter is the Holy Ghost

God chose what is foolish to shame those that believe themselves wise, God chose what is seemingly weak in the world to shame the strong. (1 Corinthians 1:27-30)

God designed us to be royalty in His kingdom, a temple for the Holy Ghost to dwell within us! (1 Corinthians 6:19)

We are strong through Jesus Christ, because Christ dwells in us! (2 Corinthians 12:10)

To many forget that no weapon formed against us will prosper, God said, I will fight your battles! Gideon, David, Daniel, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego are only a few biblical characters that God performed great and mighty things through fighting their battles. God delivered them, He will deliver us!

People can go to counseling and it may help, but he only thing that will fix the intimidation cycle permanently is prayer, fasting, praise and worship – relationship with God!
